Making Contributions that Change Lives

How Your Contributions Change Lives

In 2013, 2,590 homeless people were counted in the Monterey County Homeless Census. Of those homeless people, 76% had no form of shelter. Your contributions, of time, skills, and monetary donations, help us to get these men, women, families, seniors, and Veterans off the street and into safe secure homes. Our Veteran, rental assistance, and home ownership programs promote smart money-based decision to gain fiscal responsibility and self-sustainability.

Your donation to the Housing Resource Center of Monterey County (HRC), in any amount, makes that possible.

Here at HRC, we stress the importance of homeless prevention and relief for our communities by assisting those in need to attain and maintain safe, affordable housing. We believe in a Housing First approach which means we aim to offer permanent, affordable housing as quickly as possible for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, and then provide the supportive services and connections to the community-based supports people need to keep their housing and avoid returning to homelessness.

We’re proud of what we’ve done so far. And none of these services would be possible without the steady and unwavering support of our community.
